Spiromesifen is a non-systemic insecticide and acaricide belonging to the tetronic acid group.
Spiromesifen inhibits lipid biosynthesis. It is primarily effective against nymphs and reduces the fecundity of adult females. It affects the growth and reproduction of whiteflies and also exhibits ovicidal activity.
Spiromesifen is harmful to natural enemies, particularly predatory mites.
For whitefly control, application should be carried out when the first-instar nymphs predominate in the population.
The pre-harvest interval (PHI) for field-grown cucurbits and vegetables is 3 days
